Filigree Workshop

Duration Varies
130 British pounds
Spare Street

Service Description

Filigree inlay craft is a traditional metalworking technique used for decorating and crafting items such as jewellery and vessels. It involves the use of fine metal wires or strips to create intricate patterns and designs. Different metal base options are provided pricing from £130 to £200. Process: The workshop is held by Zoey, an inheritor of intangible cultural heritage. The participants will get introduced to Chinese traditional filigree inlay technique and its background and development while experiencing the exquisite beauty of filigree inlay up close and personal. Then, Zoey will guide all participants to create their own pieces using the typical technique. The metal wires need to be delicately embedded into grooves on a metal base or other materials. Artisans will be using specialised tools and techniques to secure the wires in place, ensuring their stability and durability. Finally, the surface may be polished and finished by our staff to give the filigree inlay piece a shiny and refined appearance. All work will be sent back to the participants after 10 working days. All materials are included in the workshop. Duration: 3 hours Please contact us if there are more than 5 participants.
