Chánhuā, also known as "Twining Flower," is a traditional craft of making artificial flowers using materials such as silk thread, cardboard, and metal wire. It is mainly popular in regions like Taiwan and Fujian, and there are similar intangible cultural heritage projects in Hubei as well. Traditional chánhuā is often used for ancestral worship, weddings, and home decorations, with different patterns and styles reflecting local customs and traditions. Today, chánhuā is experiencing a revitalisation with efforts from various parties. It is a suitable choice for handicraft enthusiasts who want to explore the world of traditional flower making, although mastering the technique can be challenging. Learning chánhuā allows one to appreciate the beauty of handicraft art and experience the charm of traditional culture.
